Amazing Grace

Today I've learnt something new, and it happens to be Good Friday - very appropriate. :)

GRACE.

God's AMAZING GRACE. Today's sermon was about that grace, how Jesus LOVED us SO MUCH, even in the face of injustice, He DIED on the cross for us, unworthy people. He bore ALL our shame and sin - My God my Saviour, has RANSOMED me. How AMAZING is THAT. :)

And during worship practice today, the song Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) spoke to me more than ever. Thank God for the opportunity to play it! I've never seen such beautiful lyrics before. I think people more often than not, overlook the words in the song Amazing Grace, probably because it's being oversung (especially at funerals, and in 1T06, heh.) after all these years. Anyway, yeah, the lyrics to Amazing Grace is lovely, speaks of the extent of God's love for us.

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone, I've been set free
My God my Saviour has ransomed me

Amazing Grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
