my grown up christmas list

just found a beautiful song about christmas.
it's called My Grown up Christmas List by kelly clarkson.
=) anyways, ms kang started what i've always been waiting for. but i'm not excited at all. at all. hmph!!! the topics she gave were like so lame.. like Fast Food Should be banned and Beauty Contests are degrading to women blah blah. and my group was sooo "fortunate" to get the one about Rebellious Teenage Behaviour is mainly due to poor parenting. and we're supposed to oppose against it. such lousy topics. no NATIONAL SERVICE. what the.. she should give us the chance to explore different ideas and various topics to write about.. rather than these common topics which were used over and over and over again. actually, if she gave us the opportunity to choose our own topics. i don't like i would have written about NS. i would have written about the MOE. i would have written 3 pages worth of different arguements and stuff. =)
speaking about MOE, we received this booklet
about Flexibilty & Diversity in Singapore Schools. WOW. flexibilty. riiiiiighhtt.. the whole booklet is just a mere propaganda. it's to convince parents and other students that out education system is the greatest and blah blah. right. let me quote something:
The Ministry of Education aims to help all out students to discover their own talents, realise their full potential (ohmygosh.. serious??), and develop a passion for learning that lasts through life. (...........)
We have a strong education system (oooooo..). Singapore students have high aspirations (WOW), and are recognised internationally for their high levels or achievement.(OOOOOOoooo...) We have good schools (really???), with capable school leaders and teachers, and facilities that are amongst the best in the world. (right......)

i'm so sorry for any sarcastic comments. and i don't know why, but i'm just displeased with out education system. some people might think otherwise. but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. right? Lee Hsien Loong wants to give students a more broad-based education; to light a fire in our young people. hahaha. and they emphasized on the 'teach less, learn more' thing. they say "Examinations and assessment methods will be reviewed, to reduce reliance on rote learning and encourage independent learning and experimentation". gosh. i don't they mean what they say.. everything is so concentrated on our acadamic performance in school. everything has to do with our acadamic results. tests tests, exams exams, streaming (oooo...). what's the big deal about streaming in the first place?
i don't wish to continue writing. haha. i'm embarressed by my ever so lame entries.
